At 99% of the other Muslim Marriage sites out there, you automatically search for a date, I mean spouse, by age & location. Then you are usually given some advanced filtering options, like height, eye color, hair color, and a lot of other things that make the search process purely superficial. Personally I think it’s boring, so at Baitul Nikah ® we decided to shake things up and make the search process more fun, while also adding some substance.

Once you create your account, the first thing you’ll do is set up your main video profile. This will be a series of quick 2-minute videos. In the first video you’ll introduce yourself and tell people a little bit about why you’re here and what you’re looking for. Then you’ll answer 12 questions from any category you want. Your answers will also be recorded on video and you’ll have 2-minutes to answer each question. When you’re done, your profile will be reviewed for approval by our staff. Once approved, you can now answer more questions and upload an unlimited amount of videos to build a bigger profile and you can also begin searching for a spouse. Below you can see one of our search walls …

Video selection screen inside Baitul Nikah ®

Category Search Wall Inside Baitul Nikah ®

Once inside Baitul Nikah ®, when you search, you’ll have a choice. If you want to search based on looks and first impressions, you can do so by choosing the option to watch “video introductions” from all of our members. You will then be taken to a video wall where you can pick out members based on “first sight attraction” and then view their video introduction. If you want to base your search on more substance, then you can decide to use the search wall above and select categories that interest you. After selecting a category, you will then be taken to a wall of relevant questions within your chosen category. At this point, you can now pick interesting questions and then you’ll be taken to a video wall where you can see everyone who answered those questions.

If your search produces too many results, then you can refine your search by filtering the videos by age, country, state, if a member has children or not and if they practice polygamy or not. You can choose as few or as many filters as you want. After watching a video answer, you can then choose to view that member’s entire video profile and then interact with them.

Now … I’ve already seen people who’ve answered at least 30 + questions inside their video profile. So think about it … if a person answers 30 to 50 to even 100 questions and you can watch 2-minute video answers on each question … that’s an hour to over 3 hours of answers from someone ON VIDEO! That’s a pretty solid marriage interview and from there you can make an informed decision as to whether or not it’s worth your time to meet this person offline, in the presence of a Wali, and continue the interview insha-Allah. At this point you know exactly who you’re dealing with. You were able to actually see them and hear real responses, so meeting them isn’t awkward like trying to meet someone after you’ve exchanged a few e-mails.

I don’t know about you, but if I’m using the internet to search for a spouse, I’d rather get to know someone this way, instead of the alternatives that 99% of the other Muslim Marriage sites have to offer, which I’ll be covering in my next post.

Here’s a video with Sheikh Adly talking about boyfriend-girlfriend issues. It’s pretty clear what is Halal and what is Hiram, but S.M. (the person anonymously asking the questions in this video) isn’t taking NO for an answer!

So what’s your view on traditional dating vs. Muslim Marriage?

The whole boyfriend-girlfriend thing never really interested me. That’s why I got married when I was 18. Besides being hiram, having a girlfriend just seemed like “playing house” or “high school stuff”. I wanted something REAL. I was seeking to be responsible for someone and being someone’s boyfriend just doesn’t fulfill that.

Think about it … it’s easy to play the boyfriend. 99% of traditional dating relationships are pretty much the same. Movies, dinner and then sex. Dancing, dinner and then sex. A broadway show maybe, dinner and then sex. You might move in together and then you’ll have more sex. And if you move in together and you’re not married … then you’re really just “playing house”, because at any time you can walk away from this woman. Why? … Because you’re not legally/spiritually responsible for her.

So when things get hot, you just leave. After the movies, after dinner and after sex … you just drop her off at her parents house and let them do all the hard work of actually maintaining her. Let them pay to keep a roof over her head, to keep the lights on, the phone on, food in the house, etc. Because after all … you are “just her boyfriend”, so you can’t possibly be responsible for all that. You’re just “having fun”. You’re just “hanging out”. You’re young and can’t possibly be bothered with being a father right now if she happens to get pregnant, right? Plus you can always just leave because you’re not married. You have a way out. You can get all the benefits with no responsibility.

I can’t speak for other fathers out there but I refuse to have this happen to my daughters and I refuse to raise my sons to treat women in this way. May Allah make us all better Muslims, seek out only Halal relationships and successfully fulfill all of our obligations. Amin.

As-Salaamu-Alaikum!

When I was younger … from about age 18 to 20 … I worked for my father. He owned a jewelry store that was right next to the masjid. The experience afforded me a few things that I consider a blessing:

1.

I was able to work right next to the masjid and hear the Adhan for Zhur, Asr and Mahgrib during business hours.

2.

When I heard the Adhan, I was able to respond and make the salat in congregation without seeking the permission of my employer.

3.

My place of work sat in the center of the Muslim community and I was constantly surrounded by my fellow brothers and sisters, so I met a lot of people.

In the two years that I worked next to the masjid, made all the prayers there, broke my fast there during Ramadan, attended Jum’ah, etc … The number one issue that I heard amongst the many Muslims in that community as well as others close by, was that they found it hard to find a husband or wife. The usual time for looking was always after Jum’ah when everyone poured out of the masjid. Brothers and sisters alike, would both be on the lookout for a potential mate to catch their eye, but Friday after Friday, over 2 years, I always heard the same complaints …

“I see the same people every Friday and I don’t see anyone I’m interested in.”

Or …

“He’s already married and I don’t want to be in polygamy.”

Or …

“She’s already married.”

Or …

He/she is too young for me. He/she is too old for me.

And the hunt began … people started attending different masjids, so that they could hopefully see someone in another community that caught their eye. I personally know brothers who have traveled to many different states and even overseas in search of a wife, because the local pool of available singles was limited or not exactly what they were seeking. The keyword being LOCAL.

So now Muslims are embracing the internet and using it as a tool to expand their reach in finding someone to marry. The problem is that many of them are using websites that are not Halal and are not run by Muslims. Then there’s the fact that 99% of these websites are filled with empty profiles, fake or outdated pictures, scammers looking for a green card, and people looking to “hook up”, who are not at all serious about marriage. And the biggest safety concern is that you never really know if the person on the other end of the computer is REALLY who they claim to be. This is why I decided to create Baitul Nikah ®.

Baitul Nikah ® Dot Com is the world’s first video search engine, exclusively for Single Muslims, searching for a compatible marriage partner. You can browse thousands of user videos, uploaded by Muslim men and women who have serious intentions to marry and are looking for others who share the same. Our website allows marriage minded Muslims from all over the world to meet each other in a Halal third-party environment, from the comfort of their home, through the power of HD video and a high-speed internet connection.

We’re pioneering a new standard in the online search for Muslim Marriage seekers, by utilizing a search model that’s based on Quran and Sunna, member profiles that are created entirely in video to prove authenticity and by including the Wali in the search process.

Now you can SEE and HEAR your potential spouse answer questions in beautiful wide-screen high definition! That’s right. No more creepy profiles with fake or outdated pictures. No more empty profiles with unanswered questions. No more weird feelings, wondering if the person on the other end of the computer is REALLY who they claim to be. Alhamdulilah, we fixed it! Now you can search for Muslim Marriage seekers in all video!

Baitul Nikah ® is a high-end solution for Muslims who practice Quran and Sunna and want to do things right. You can meet and interact with REAL PEOPLE here online and then decide if you’d like to meet them face-to-face with a Wali.

I know that you’re serious about finding a spouse and you want something that’s fun and halal to use and can actually work! So browse through some of our Muslim Marriage Videos and then create your own video profile. You can then start your search to find other marriage seekers to interact with insha-Allah. Try it today! (free for a limited time only)
